New Book: Article 5 by Kristen Simmons

This is a new book I think looks promising. On goodreads it  sawys the release date is 14th Febuary 2012.

New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC have been abandoned.

PLOT: The Bill of Rights has been revoked, and replaced with the Moral Statutes.

There are no more police — instead, there are soldiers. There are no more fines for bad behavior — instead, there are arrests, trials, and maybe worse. People who get arrested don’t usually come back.

17-year-old Ember Miller is old enough to remember that things weren’t always this way. Living with her rebellious single mother, it’s hard to forget that people weren’t always arrested for reading the wrong books or staying out after dark. That life in the United States used to be different.

In the three years since the war ended, Ember has perfected the art of keeping a low profile. She knows how to get the things she needs, like food stamps and hand-me-down clothes, and how to pass the random home inspections by the Federal Bureau of Reformation. Her life is as close to peaceful as circumstances allow. That is, until her mother is arrested for noncompliance with Article 5 of the Moral Statutes. And what’s worse, one of the arresting officers is none other than Chase Jennings…the only boy Ember has ever loved.

New Book: Tempus by Tyra Lynn

Found this book on http://ya-sisterhood.blogspot.com/2011/09/tempus-by-tyra-lynn.html and think it looks promising. Check it out and tell us what you think.

Plot: According to Albert Einstein, the distinction between past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion. He might have been right.

Seventeen-year-old Jessie McLeod is used to getting glimpses of the past when she touches objects in her dads antique shop, but she's not used to the past looking back. Especially when the past is a gorgeous guy and she is dressed like a slob.

Shocked and intrigued, Jessie becomes obsessed with trying to catch another glimpse of that perfect face. When thoughts of him invade her sleep, the dreams seem so real that she wakes with the feel of his lips lingering on her skin. Soon after, however, the one guy she thought she’d never date suddenly asks her out. Either something strange is going on, or all those years of using furniture cleaner finally caused brain damage.

Brain damage is easy enough to believe—until the day she turns around and looks straight into the face from her dreams. Completely unaware, Jessie is now in a race against time to remember something important, something life-changing, and the one person who can tell her the truth doesn’t dare to—she must remember on her own.

With only a week before senior year, the once self-assured Jessie is now sure of nothing. Well, maybe one thing. Everything’s been turned upside down, and it's all because of that stupid mirror she found in the shop on Monday and the glimpse that changed her future—maybe even her past.

Lilly Collins on Jamie Bower as Jace

This is Lily Collins talking about Jamie Bower as Jace.

“I only read with a couple of guys, and it’s funny because the way Jace was described in the scenes—I knew what Jamie looked like, and I had met him at social events before briefly, but from the second he walked, he carried himself in this way that was just Jace from the get go,” Lily recalled. “He walked in and it was like, okay, he totally has the vibe going on, and he was so nice, and he had totally just flown in from London for it the day before, he could have been extremely tired, but he was there to win us over.”
“The second he started playing with the scene with me, everything was just so natural,” Lily continued. “He didn’t even seem like he was trying. He was just Jace. He had the perfect balance of all the different character traits and aspects you’d hope from Jace. There are so many levels to him. He just walked out when he was done, and I looked at everyone and said, ‘Guys, I think this is Jace.’”

Clockwork Prince teaser

This is a new clockwork prince teaser that Cassandra Clare just posted on her blog...

“Must he be here?” Gabriel growled to Tessa the second time he had nearly dropped a knife while handing it to her. He put a hand on her shoulder, showing her the sight line for the target she was aiming at a black circle drawn on the wall. She knew how much he would rather she were aiming at Will. “Can’t you tell him to go away?”
“Now, why would I do that?” Tessa asked reasonably. “Will is my friend, and you are someone whom I do not even like.”
She threw the knife. It missed its target by several feet, striking low in the wall near the floor.
“No, you’re still weighting the point too much—and what do you mean, you don’t like me?” Gabriel demanded.

Insurgent draft finished

Veronica Roth posted this on her blog recently..

"I finished the revised draft of Insurgent at 1AM on Sunday (well, I guess that's technically Monday). But there is still work to do! If I could get a book right in just ONE round of revisions, I would be like some kind of writer mutant, and I would be checking myself for flippers or gills or something. There will be other rounds of edits. Plus a line editing round. Plus a copyediting round. Plus page proofs. Plus...well, let's just say it takes longer than you'd think.

Still, I'm really happy with the way it turned out and the fact that it's done. And excited, though prematurely, for everyone to read it!"
