'Fallen' Casting Rumour

There are 2 rumurs going around that Lauren Kates book (which is being turned into a movie) will have either Lucy Hale or Kaya Scodelario as Lucinda Price (The main character).

So at this stage it is only a rumour but if anybody could confirm this or disprove this is the future that would be great.

The Iron Knight: Teaser

This is a Iron Knight Julie Kagawa excerpt.

"Oh, wonderful." Rudy gave the cat a sour look, grabbing a cloth from below and wiping the countertop. "Look who's here. Back to plague me again, are you? You know that information you traded nearly got me killed?"

"You wanted the location of the giant ruins. I gave it to you. My end of the bargain was upheld."

"I thought they were deserted! You didn't say they were still occupied!"

"You did not ask if they were."

Divergent Movie

Here's an excerpt from interview with Veronica Roth about the upcoming DIVERGENT MOVIE!!!

"How is the film going?

We’re pretty early on right now so I don’t know how things are going to go yet. I’m lucky enough to have my film representative sign with the production company [that’s making the film], so he lets me know what’s going on and I can tell him if I’m really nervous about anything.

Did you ever think of adapting it yourself?

I’m a book girl. I think it’s interesting and certainly exciting [to write a screenplay], but it’s not really what I want to be doing."

Here is the link to a post on her blog when she reveals the news:
http://veronicarothbooks.blogspot.com/2011/03/in-grand-tradition-of-this-blog.html
And here is Veronica Roth herself talking about the movie:
http://hollywoodcrush.mtv.com/2011/07/27/divergent-adaptation-veronica-roth-casting-tris/
Summit Entertainment has closed a deal to bring to acquire film rights to Divergent with Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher producing.

Insurgent synopsis

Sorry it's a little late, but here's the blurb for Insurgent, the upcoming sequel to Divergent by Veroica Roth (due to be released May 28th 2011).

"One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so."

Rue & Katnis - Hunger Games fan made scene

Found this on youtube, it's pretty good. Here's some of the description from the youtube video:

"I am a big fan of the Hunger Games books and am excited for the film from Lionsgate. This was done in hopes that the actors would get a chance to audition for the film. Danielle Chuchran was able to audition for Gary Ross. Congratulations to Jennifer Lawrence and Amandla Stenberg on landing the roles.

I know that Rue is described as being dark skinned in the book, but I wanted to show Savanna's acting. I think she would make a good Prim though."

New Book: Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson

This book is called secons chance summer and is by Morgan Matson. It comes out May 8th 2012. Its not quite like most of the books that we cover but i think the plot line sounds quite promising.

Second Chance SummerPLOT: Taylor's family might not be the closest-knit – everyone is a little too busy and overscheduled – but for the most part, they get along fine. Then they get news that changes everything: Her father has pancreatic cancer, and it's stage four – meaning that there is basically nothing to be done. Her parents decide that the family will spend his last months together at their old summerhouse in the Pocono Mountains.

Crammed into a place much smaller and more rustic than they are used to, they begin to get to know each other again. And Taylor discovers that the people she thought she had left behind haven't actually gone anywhere. Her former summer best friend is suddenly around, as is her first boyfriend. . . and he's much cuter at seventeen than he was at twelve.

As the summer progresses, the Edwards become more of a family, and closer than they've ever been before. But all of them very aware that they're battling a ticking clock. Sometimes, though, there is just enough time to get a second chance – with family, with friends, and with love.

New Book: Beautiful Chaos (Caster Chronicles book #3) by Kami Garcia

The third book in the Beautiful Creatures series by Kami Garcia, this looks like a fabulous addition to the series! It is due to be released on October 18th 2011.

PLOT: Ethan Wate thought he was getting used to the strange, impossible events happening in Gatlin, his small Southern town. But now that Ethan and Lena have returned home, strange and impossible have taken on new meanings. Swarms of locusts, record-breaking heat, and devastating storms ravage Gatlin as Ethan and Lena struggle to understand the impact of Lena's Claiming. Even Lena's family of powerful Supernaturals is affected - and their abilities begin to dangerously misfire. As time passes, one question becomes clear: What - or who - will need to be sacrificed to save Gatlin?

For Ethan, the chaos is a frightening but welcome distraction. He's being haunted in his dreams again, but this time it isn't by Lena - and whatever is haunting him is following him out of his dreams and into his everyday life. Even worse, Ethan is gradually losing pieces of himself - forgetting names, phone numbers, even memories. He doesn't know why, and most days he's too afraid to ask.
Sometimes there isn't just one answer or one choice. Sometimes there's no going back. And this time there won't be a happy ending.

The Iron Knight Teaser

Its teaser tuesday so Julie Kagawa has uploaded a teaser for Iron Knight.
Here it is...

"Hey, ice-boy, you okay? You’ve got your brooding face on again.”

“I’m fine.”

“You’re so full of crap.” Puck lounged in the cradle of a tree, hands behind his head, one foot dangling in the air. “Lighten up already. We finally found the cat—which we should get a freaking medal for, the search for the Golden Fleece wasn’t this hard—and you look like you’re going to engage Mab in single combat first thing in the morning.”

“I’m thinking. You should try it sometime.”

"Ooh, witty."

Mortal Instruments Filming Estimation

"As of Now, the film is set to start filming this January. Screen Gems is moving forward with casting and we will hear news as it is made available. No one want's these films to be rushed. Cassandra Clare created an intriguing and complex universe that will take care and precision to orchestrate."

It came from this site (LINK) and also has some other interesting things on it about both the leading actors. This includes Jamie Campbell Bower bulking up and an interview with Lily Collins on learing self defence and fencing.

US Magazine Lenny Kravitz on Jennifer Lawrence in the Hunger Games

In an interview with US Magazine, Lenny Kravitz mentions the scene where Cinna and Katniss meet for the first time and compares Jennifer to a young Meryl Streep!
US: How has it been working with Jennifer Lawrence?
LK: Oh man, I shot a scene with her yesterday and it was just the two of us, where our characters meet, and she is unbelievable. I hate comparisons, but she is a young Meryl Streep. This girl is for real and just acting with her, it just brought it to a level where she pulled me in so deeply, and the scene just became so real and at the end we had to pop out of it. It was someplace we had gone into and it was really beautiful. I learned actually a lot from her yesterday and she is fantastic.
US: You knew her through Zoe before you started filming, right?
LK: Yes, and that makes it even more odd. She is a family friend and all of the sudden you have to be serious because when we are all together we are all quite silly. My daughter, her friends…we are quite a silly bunch, but it was great.

Us: What has it been like shooting your scenes in the Capitol world?
LK: I am going to leave that to surprise, I am sure the director would want to talk about it himself but he is an amazing director, he really has a way of pulling things out of the actors, he is an actor himself, so he comes from that, he was trained by the best. He is director that knows how to do everyone else’s job as well, so he knows what he is talking about and I like that because I identify with that. When it comes to music, I can get up on stage and play everyone’s parts for them, well because I play it in the studio, I can just identify with getting a grip on what is happening.
Us: Has the movie stayed true to the book do you think?
LK: I’ve only seen my part, but I think it is great.

Bitterblue Release Canceled

Kristin Cashore (Author of Gracling, Fire and soon to be Bitterblue) did a radio interview where she informed fans that her book Bitterblue first set to release in 2011 was going to be pushed back. This also includes a general outline for the story...

A new release date has not yet been announced.

Here is the relevant part of the interview

Kristin Cashore: I’m writing a third book. The third book is called Bitterblue. Readers of Graceling will know that Bitterblue is a character in Graceling. In Graceling, she’s ten years old. In Bitterblue she’s 16 years old. And she is the protagonist of the book and Katsa and Poe and other characters from Graceling are also in that story.

Matthew Peterson: Oh, okay. That is exciting. I went to your website and I took a look and I noticed a lot of people saying, “Well, Bitterblue is cancelled”, but you had a change of publishers, didn’t you?

Kristin Cashore: Yes I did.

Matthew Peterson: Was that between book one and two?

Kristin Cashore: That was between book one and two. My editor moved from Harcourt Children’s Books to Dial Books for Young Readers and I had to decide whether to go with her. And really there was no decision, I love Harcourt to pieces, but I have to go where my editor goes.

Matthew Peterson: Is there any special thing you could tell us about Bitterblue?

Kristin Cashore: The thing about Bitterblue is both Katsa and Fire are young women with extraordinary, special powers that no one else has. Bitterblue is just a regular girl. She doesn’t have a grace, but she’s surrounded by extraordinary people and it’s her coming-of-age story, as they all are, they’re coming-of-age stories. But it’s her coming-of-age as a just a regular person who’s trying to sort out a very complicated and traumatic past and a very confusing present and just kind of become comfortable with herself as a person, even though she’s not extraordinary in the grace sense.

Release Date: 15th November 2011

The Pledge (The Pledge, #1)

Seventeen-year-old Charlaina has always been able to understand the languages of all classes, and she’s spent her life trying to hide her secret. The only place she can really be free is the drug-fueled underground clubs where people go to shake off the oppressive rules of the world they live in. It's there that she meets a beautiful and mysterious boy named Max who speaks a language she's never heard before . . . and her secret is almost exposed.

Charlie is intensely attracted to Max, even though she can’t be sure where his real loyalties lie. Clockwork Prince Teaser

This is a clockwork prince teaser excerpt. A bit lat but better than never.

He flinched away from her, and Tessa dropped her hand, hurt. “Jem, what it is it? You don’t want me to touch you?”

“Not like that,” he flared, and then flushed even darker than before.

“Like what?” She was honestly bewildered; this was behavior she might have expected from Will, but not from Jem: this mysteriousness, this anger.

“As if you were a nurse and I were your patient. You think because I am ill I am not like —” He drew a ragged breath. “Do you think I do not know,” he went on more quietly, “that when you take my hand, it is only so that you can feel my pulse? Do you think I do not know that when you look into my eyes it is only to see examine my pupils, to see how much of the drug I have taken? If I were another man, a normal man, I might have hopes, presumptions even; I might -—” His words seemed to catch; either because he realized he had said too much or because he had run out of breath.

She shook her head, feeling her plaits tickle her neck. “This is the fever speaking, not you.”

His eyes darkened, and he began to turn away from her. “You can’t even believe I could want you,” he said in a half-whisper. “That I am alive enough, healthy enough —”

“No.” Without thinking, she caught at his arm. He stiffened. “James, that's not at all what I meant —”

He curled his fingers around her hand, where it lay on his arm. His own scorched her skin, hot as fire. And then he turned her, and drew her toward him.

They stood face to face, chest to chest. His breath stirred her hair. She felt the fever rising off him like mist off the Thames; sensed the pounding of the blood through his skin, saw with a strange clarity the pulse at his neck, the light on the pale curls of his hair where it lay against his paler throat. Prickles of heat ran up and down her skin, bewildering her. This was Jem — her friend, steady and reliable as a heartbeat. Jem did not set her skin on fire or make the blood rush fast inside her veins until she was dizzy.

Did he?

“Tessa,” he said. She looked up at him. There was nothing steady or reliable about his expression. His silver eyes were dark, his cheeks flushed. As she raised her face, he brought his down, his mouth slanting across hers, and even as she froze in surprise they were kissing.

City of Lost Souls September Teaser

This is the City of Lost Souls Septermber Teaser posted by Cassandra Clare on her blog.

“Alec isn’t happy,” said Magnus, as if she hadn’t spoken.
“Of course he isn’t,” Isabelle snapped. “Jace —”
“Jace,” said Magnus, and his hands made fists at his sides. Isabelle stared at him. She had always thought that he didn’t mind Jace; liked him, even, once the question of Alec’s affections had been settled. Out loud, she said:
“I thought you were friends.”
“It’s not that,” said Magnus. “There are some people — people the universe seems to have singled out for special destinies. Special favors and special torments. God knows we’re all drawn toward what’s beautiful and broken; I have been, but some people cannot be fixed. Or if they can be, it’s only by love and sacrifice so great it destroys the giver.”
Isabelle shook her head slowly. “You’ve lost me. Jace is our brother, but for Alec — he’s Jace’s parabatai too —”
“I know about parabatai,” said Magnus, his voice rising in pitch. “I’ve known parabatai so close they were almost the same person; do you know what happens, when one of them dies, to the one that’s left —”
“Stop it!” Isabelle clapped her hands over her ears, then lowered them slowly. "How dare you, Magnus Bane,” she said. “How dare you make this worse than it is —”
“Isabelle.” Magnus’ hands loosened; he looked a little wide-eyed, as if his outburst had startled even him. “I am sorry. I forget, sometimes . . . that with all your self-control and strength, you possess the same vulnerability that Alec does.”
“There is nothing weak about Alec,” said Isabelle.
“No,” said Magnus. “To love as you choose, that takes strength. The thing is, I wanted you here for him. There are things I can’t do for him, can’t give him . . .” For a moment Magnus looked oddly vulnerable. “You have known Jace as long as he has. You can give him understanding I can’t. And he loves you.”
“Of course he loves me. I’m his sister.”
“Blood isn’t love,” said Magnus, and his voice was bitter. “Just ask Clary.”

The Iron Knight: Teaser

Julie Kagwa posted some teasers from her book the iron knight (released October 25h 2012). Here is what she said...

"As we creep closer to the release of Iron Knight, several people have asked me for happier teasers. Or at least not so evil ones. (Which only means I'm doing something right, ha ha!) So, as a special treat today, I'll post TWO teasers. One happy(er), and one horrid, horrid evil teaser. Pick your teaser, or read them both at your own peril. >:D

Teaser one (happy-ish teaser):

But seeing her still made my heart beat crazily, made me long to pull her close and let that light consume me. If it burned until there was nothing left, would that be such a terrible fate?

And, teaser two (evil teaser):

My quest ended here, in this hole of darkness and regret. And, if I didn't die here, if I lived on forever, listening to the voices of those I'd wronged until the end of time, perhaps I would start to atone for what I had done."

So what do you think????
Anyone especially exited for this book???
