Clockwork Princess Teasers

These are the two most recent clockwork Princess teasers released by Cassandra Clare in celebration of the YA-sisterhoods tournament of the heroines (which by the way you should all go and vote in).

The first teaser:

"'Would you?" said Gabriel to Will, hotly 'If it was your family' His lip curled. 'Never mind. Its not as if you know the meaning of loyalty-'
'Gabriel.' Gideon's voice was a reprimand to his brother. 'Do not speak to Will in that manner.'"

Second:

'"He began it', Cecily said, jerking her chin at Will, though she knew it was pointless. Jem, Wills parabatai, treated her with the distant sweet kindness reserved for the little sisters of ones friends, but he would always side with Will. Kindly, but firmly, he put Will above everything else in the world. Well, nearly everything."

City of Lost Souls December Teaser

Here is the December City of Lost Souls teaser.

"'Oh, shut up,' she said, and kissed him. This was marginally more successful. Simon has kissed Isabelle before. He loved the texture of her soft lips, the way his hands felt in her long, dark hair. But as she pressed herself against him he also felt the warmth of her body, her long bare legs against him, the pulse of her blood -and the snap of his fag teeth as the came out."

Nevermore (Maximum Ride 8#) Book details and rumor confirmed

So details of the upcoming Maximum Ride book have been shaky but some facts have finally been confirmed on the Max-Dan-Wiz site. Although these are said to be 'official' be on the eye out for changes because as we have seen how often they diverge.

Here is the newly confirmed info...

Release Date: 6th August

Page Count: 368 pages

Plot Teaser: One last chance for Max, Fang and Dylan before it all ends. Are you ready for the final chapter? Are you ready for the ultimate fight? Because THIS IS IT. One last incredible, explosive adventure with an astonishing ending no one could have seen coming.

There it is. everything we know about the book laid out. Its really not much is it? Nice to have that rumor confirmed but. I kinda hope -even though its a stretch- that the use of the word 'explosive' means Iggy gets more page time... probably not but.

Happy Holidays everyone!!!

Insurgent (Divergent 2#) plot line detail reveal: love triangle

It has been revealed by Veronica Roth on an Goodreads interview (which you can read here LINK) that there will be no love triangle in book two. Something which I personally am very happy for. Although this does cut out any Tris X Peter action a twisted romance both Alice and me where vying for.

So what does this mean for all you other Divergent fans, disappointment or celebration?

City of Lost Souls Teaser

This is the latest City of Lost Souls sneak peek excerpt. Cassandra Clare has promised to post another longer one if Clary wins the tournament of the heroines.

“What have you done to my cat?” Magnus demanded, returning to the living room carrying a pot of coffee, with a circle of mugs floating around his head like a model of the planets rotating around the sun. “You drank his blood, didn’t you? You said you weren’t hungry!”

Reason for the City of Bones Script re-write

In an earlier post we talked about how Cassandra Clare did not like the original script (see original post here LINK) and suggested as re-write but we had no idea what exactly she did not like. Now we know. It was the fact that they had not included Magnus, something I find appalling.

Eternally thankful he is now being included.

Cassandra Clare gives 'opening chapter quote' in upcoming Clockwork Princess

On her tumble Cassandra Clare said that this quote by Swineburne is featured in Clockwork Angel.

"At the door of life, by the gate of breath,
There are worse things waiting for men than death;
Death could not sever my soul and you,
As these have severed your soul from me."

Is anyone else getting the dying-Jem-Tessa-romance feel from this?

Cassanrda Clare (+ Ed Westwick) talks casting of the Infernal Devices Movie

This is what Cassandra Clare and Ed Westwick (From gossip girl and the voice of the books on audio) had to say about casting for the Infernal Devices.

Also this is a link to the Holly Wood crush website where you can see the video. (LINK)

Ed:
"I would love to. I would love to," he told the author. "It would be a great role. Just from reading the book—there's a lot of depth there. It's something I'd relish getting to be involved it. Let's all convince the studio to hire me and we'll be all good."
Cassandra Clare:
"Part of the reason that I asked him back when he recorded 'City of Fallen Angels' to also record the voice-over narration for our book trailer of 'Clockwork Prince' was that I thought his personality and his voice meshed up with my mental image of Will real well," Cassie enthused. "When I see fans online doing their fan casting, there are a number of favorites for Will, Ed among them, because Will is very naturally sarcastic and has this very restrained devilish charm, and all of those things apply to Chuck Bass on 'Gossip Girl,' as well."

So tell us who has your vote for the ID movie?

City of Bones Movie Script Finished and Filming Delayed

We have received word via Twitter that the City of Bones Script has been finished and is just awaiting approval.

The Script was re-written as Cassandra Clare said the original was too different from the book. About this script she has been quotes as saying "I really like it. The screenplay is the backbone of a movie and this version is much closer to the book". She has also said that although filming was set the begin in January people should not be expecting this as a lot of things have yet to be signed off on. However the delay should not be long.

Release date: TODAY other wise known as 6th December 2011

Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2)PLOT: In the magical underworld of Victorian London, Tessa Gray has at last found safety with the Shadowhunters. But that safety proves fleeting when rogue forces in the Clave plot to see her protector, Charlotte, replaced as head of the Institute. If Charlotte loses her position, Tessa will be out on the street and easy prey for the mysterious Magister, who wants to use Tessa's powers for his own dark ends.
With the help of the handsome, self-destructive Will and the fiercely devoted Jem, Tessa discovers that the Magister's war on the Shadowhunters is deeply personal. He blames them for a long-ago tragedy that shattered his life. To unravel the secrets of the past, the trio journeys from mist-shrouded Yorkshire to a manor house that holds untold horrors, from the slums of London to an enchanted ballroom where Tessa discovers that the truth of her parentage is more sinister than she had imagined. When they encounter a clockwork demon bearing a warning for Will, they realize that the Magister himself knows their every move and that one of their own has betrayed them.
Tessa finds her heart drawn more and more to Jem, though her longing for Will, despite his dark moods, continues to unsettle her. But something is changing in Will; the wall he has built around himself is crumbling. Could finding the Magister free Will from his secrets and give Tessa the answers about who she is and what she was born to do?
As their dangerous search for the Magister and the truth leads the friends into peril, Tessa learns that when love and lies are mixed, they can corrupt even the purest heart.

Has anybody read it yet? Its said to be Cassandra Clare's best book yet. I haven't but i got a email saying that my copy was shipped two days ago. Should get here soon!!!!

Paramount Daughter of Smoke and Bone Movie Intentions

I recently did a post about how paramount is in a bidding war to win daughter of smoke and bone now while this has not yet been finalised it is expected to go through at the moment. It has also been let out that there where wto other major companies taking part in the bidding.
Paramount has said that they wish to turn the movie into a "sprawling effects driven fantasy franchise which can attract a younger audience."
There are no actors, director or writers connected to this movie atm.

Now I have only just started the novel ( a promising start) but from my point of view I think it would suits more hooded seriouse and mysteriouse feel. But who knows maybe they pull it off.

Whats your thoughts on this? How do you think they should make it? Any actors?

Book of the Month- December 2011: City of Bones (TMI 1#) by Cassandra Clare

This months book is City of Bones, the first book in well known authors Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments Series.

Genre: Urban Fantasy, Action, Drama, Romance

Released: 27th March 2007

Book of the MonthPLOT: When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?
This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .
Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

Polls are now open for our January book of the month, so get voting! And don't forget to comment on your view of this book!
